As a Perth Wedding Celebrant creating wonderful ceremonies for my couples I am constantly on the look out for inspiration for writing my weddings. As the Perth regional co-ordinator for the Australian Marriage Celebrants (AMC) I was very happy when Ruth Van Gramberg, recognised and celebrated as one of Australia’s most respected writers on Celebrancy generously donated her magnificent works for publishing and distribution to the AMC. The book is titled: "The Practical Handbook for Celebrants to Welcome, Celebrate and Farewell" by Ruth Van Gramberg. This well researched and beaut

As a Marriage Celebrant in Western Australia I have had the good fortune to perform some wonderful weddings in the Perth as well as regional areas such as Mandurah, Margaret River, Kununurra and Broome. Recently I had a very touching moment when a bride's friend read out the following amazing poem and I thought I could share this with all the Brides and Grooms in Perth or even Australia planning their Wedding Ceremony and looking for something different.  Burnt Toast (By Anonymous)   When I was a kid, my Mother liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then.  And I rem

There are many beautiful wedding rituals you can add to your Wedding Ceremony to give it a special touch.  As a Marriage Celebrant in Perth I believe your wedding should be a special occasion and enjoying an inclusion of a Handfasting ceremony is a way you can make the Wedding "special". A Handfasting Ceremony is an old custom you can include which will give a romantic touch to your Wedding Ceremony. Here is a Handfasting ceremony that I performed recently at a wedding for Margherita and Joseph in Cottesloe, Perth recently: In Europe, until the mid 1700’s, few unions were sanctifi

Reading from Corinthians in the Bible for a Wedding Ceremony

Posted by brad on August 08, 2011 in August, Helpful information, Perth celebrants, Uncategorized, Wedding ceremony tagged with , , ,

As a Perth Marriage Celebrant I am asked on many occasions to include a bible reading in the Civil Marriage Ceremony. Even though the bride and groom are not being Married in a church or by a person of the church they would still like to have a small part of their religion included. As a relaxed and informal Civil Marriage Celebrant I am always happy to oblige this request and actually encourage the use of any religion or ritual in the Wedding Ceremony if I believe this reflects the thinking or wishes of the couple. One of the readings in the bible is very popular at weddings is from the 1st

During a Wedding Ceremony it is almost certain that the Bride and Groom will exchange Wedding Rings while they are exchanging some beautiful words that they have chosen for one another: "With this ring, I marry you today and pledge my faithful love." As a Wedding Celebrant in Perth many of my couples are looking for a Romantic way to conclude the Ring Exchange part of their Wedding Ceremony. One suggestion I like to make is that after the exchange of Wedding Rings a nice touch is for your Marriage Celebrant to bless your hands that have your new Wedding Rings.  It can be very des

Margherita and Joseph met in Italy a few years ago and returned to Perth recently to re-settle and also to have the Wedding Ceremony in front of a few of their family and friends. They chose to have the Wedding Ceremony and reception at the beautiful Villa Pourzand in Cottesloe.  Melissa and staff made sure that this day would be very special for Margherita and Joseph. As a Perth Wedding Celebrant I like to meet with my couples and talk about how they would like there Marriage Ceremony here in Perth and plan a wonderful moment for them. We always get talking about other aspects of their wedding and I have noticed that one of the most important decisions you will make when it comes to planning your wedding will be choosing entertainment for your wedding reception. Marriage Equality in Australia for Same Sex couples by Perth Wedding Celebrant

As a Perth Wedding Celebrant I am very fortunate to be involved in many wonderful Marriage Ceremonies. Recently, I performed a beautiful wedding for a lovely couple in Cottesloe that I enjoyed immensely as it reminded me of my own wedding. However as I read the words " marriage according to law is the union between man and a woman voluntary entered into..." I looked up and saw a same-sex couple who where guests of the bride and groom and at that time was deeply saddened.  Even though it is 2011 and we live in modern times same-sex couples are not afforded equal rights in regards to marriag
